The Bible tells us that children are a blessing from the Lord (Psalm 127:3) and we know that Jesus welcomed children (Matthew 19:13-15). We welcome children and have Sunday School classes for all ages. During worship hours, we provide a nursery for infants and toddlers. On Wednesday nights, we have a mid-week class for children.
We not only teach children, but encourage them to be active in ministry! Children take on special projects during classes, such as letters to home-bound persons, food collection for the local community food bank, and Christmas gifts for children overseas.
Middle school and high school meet together for Sunday mornings and during the week on Wednesday nights. One of the main events they enjoy is the Move Conference (youth evangelism conference) in Macon, Georgia hosted by the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. We encourage students to join in ministry by teaching younger children’s classes, or serving in other areas of the church.
Our Senior Adults meet quarterly for meals together and fellowship. The senior adults of our church also engage in ministries to visit the injured or sick in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and homebound church members.
Our church loves our community! We have been blessed to provide support to various local ministries that help people local to Colquitt County. We engage in different opportunities to share God’s love as the opportunities arise. Some of our members have helped build wheelchair ramps, visited hospitals, visited assisted living homes, provided food to the food bank, among other activities.
God has called us to reach the world for Him. We have supported the work of missions in our country and all over the world through the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program. We contribute annually to special programs emphasizing the support of missionaries in the USA and abroad. We also support the work of the Gideons International as they spread God’s Word all over the world. We regularly support the Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes as well.
